A Proven Caregiver Training & Education Program to Meet GUIDE Requirements
Announced last year, the CMS GUIDE model emphasizes the need for caregiver training and education, recognizing the impact this has on quality of care and patient outcomes. This training component is especially critical as many patients with dementia also suffer from co-existing conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and musculoskeletal disorders.
This intensifies the responsibility and burden placed on caregivers and can lead to exacerbated costs when those caregivers become burnt out by a lack of respite and proper support.
To date, our caregiver support platform has supported 13,000 care teams with each pillar of support CMS has identified as critical components of care delivery in the model, including caregiver training and education.
For years, our training and education content has empowered family caregivers with the knowledge, skills, and support they need.

The training requirements laid out in the GUIDE application are extensive. For many providers and entities applying to GUIDE, there are two options– building out a training program and process from scratch, within your organization, or partnering with an external vendor who has an existing training program in place, such as ianacare. The program’s language lays out specific requirements to ensure participants are offering comprehensive training programs. The expectation is that caregivers will have access to on-demand and live training content that is engaging vs. existing, static websites or brochures that caregivers and patients have not traditionally engaged with.
The training programs we offer are robust and require meaningful time and resources to maintain. Learn more about partnering with ianacare to fulfill GUIDE requirements, including caregiver training and support here.
